Privacy Policy

Information you choose to store

You may enter equipment names and details, purchase and warranty dates, care plans, service history, costs, notes, and household supply information. You may also record an optional voice note of up to five minutes for a service visit, or choose photos and files such as receipts and manuals to attach to a record. These records and media are stored locally by Chimy on your device. App preferences, including reminder settings and display currency, are also stored on the device.

Photos, files, voice notes, reminders, and exports

When you select a photo or file, Chimy copies the selected item into the app's local storage so it can be shown with your record. Microphone access is requested when you choose to record a voice note. If you allow access, Chimy records up to five minutes of audio and stores it locally with the related service record. You can play, replace, or remove a voice note in the app. Chimy does not upload voice recordings to a Chimy server.

Chimy can schedule local notifications on your device for care plans and warranty dates when you enable them and grant notification permission. Chimy does not send those reminders through a Chimy server.

If you export records, Chimy creates CSV files and opens the system share sheet. Any destination you select receives the files according to your choices and that destination's own privacy practices. Chimy does not control copies made outside the app.

Collection and sharing

Chimy does not operate an account service or transmit the home records, voice notes, and attachments you create or add to the developer. The app does not include advertising or analytics functionality. Apple and your device may process information under their own services and settings, such as device backups, diagnostics, or a destination you choose in the share sheet; those services are governed by their providers' policies.

Retention and deletion

Your records, voice notes, and attachments remain in Chimy's local storage until you delete them, clear local data in the app, or remove the app from your device. Deleting a service record also deletes its voice note and attached media. Use “Clear local data” in Chimy to delete equipment, care plans, service records, supplies, and app-stored media. Exported files and copies held by other apps or device backups are not deleted by this action.

Your choices

You can choose what information to enter, whether to record a voice note, which photos and files to attach, whether to enable notifications, and whether to export your records. You can review, edit, or delete individual records in the app and clear all local app records from the My screen.

Children's privacy

Chimy is a general household record-keeping app and is not directed to children. It has no account or online submission feature. The developer does not knowingly receive personal information from children through Chimy.

Security

Chimy stores your records in the app's local storage and does not provide a Chimy-operated online repository. Keep your device passcode and backup settings in mind when storing sensitive information. No method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If Chimy's data practices change, this policy will be updated to describe those changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
